Cirle to Stage_Stop the Torment EventThanks to everyone who attended the Circle to Stage Performance! The Community Church in Mill Valley was filled with over 100 people to enjoy five women performing after taking a Storytelling Workshop.  I was one of the five women performers.

My first workshop and first performance.  As I peered out from behind the curtain I was astonished at the crowd.  But when Terri, the MC, announced my name, I walked out from behind the curtain, took a deep breath and began my story about how Jackie Gleason’s diet doctor played a huge role in my relationship with food from the age of eight.

I am happy to say, I did not miss a line, the voices of my mother and her girlfriend, Doris were strong and distinctive and more importantly, the laughter and applause brought a realization of why people get on a stage to perform.

Terri, announced that my book; Stop the Torment: Conquer Your Relationship with Food was just released.  I was astonished at how many people bought books during intermission.  The response to both the performance and book brought a sense of accomplishment after months and months of writing and rehearsing.

Ready to sign up for the next Circle to Stage Workshop and develop a new story to share.
